It belongs to the same product segment as the HWS-Easy 2! but is designed for ergonomic standing operation. This cutting tool is built for all types of on-site styrofoam cutting tasks, from foundation to roof.
DUST-FREE CUTTING SOLUTION
One of the key advantages of using the foam cutter HWS-Stand! is its cleanliness and precision. When styrofoam (EPS/XPS) is cut mechanically with traditional tools such as blades, saw, or knives, a large amount of waste, small pieces, and foam debris is produced. Due to their very light weight, these particles spread easily and contaminate both the workplace and the entire construction site. Cleaning and collecting this fine “white debris” takes a significant amount of time.
With the HWS-Stand! styrofoam cutting tool, the material is cut by thermal melting, sealing the edges of the polystyrene as it is cut. This method produces no loose pieces or fine debris at all. Simply make a clean cut, take the styrofoam piece, and put it straight to use.

The practical standing hot wire solution
The design of the hot wire styrofoam cutter HWS-Stand! is intentionally simplified, featuring an unpainted frame and legs made of durable anodized aluminum profiles. The work surface and additional structural elements are made of laminated plywood, while fastening components (including height adjusters, wing nuts) are manufactured from plastic.
Like the other models in the same product segment (inlc. the HWS-Easy 2!), the HWS-Stand! offers the key qualities of simplicity, functionality, precision, and stability, ensuring practical and comfortable use for both construction and hobby projects. It is a good choice for users who value straightforward construction, ease of operation, and solid value.
STRUCTURE
The standard HWS-Stand! styrofoam cutter is delivered as a ready-to-use hot wire cutting system designed for standing operation. It can also be mounted on scaffolding using a special scaffold bracket. Please note that, in this case, the tripod stand must be disassembled, as the scaffold bracket is mounted to the same attachment points.
The lightweight aluminum cutting bow features ball-bearing-supported side elements for smooth and accurate movement, while the durable laminated wood tabletop ensures solid stability and precise cutting performance.
POWER SUPPLY
The powerful transformer is easily mounted on the device body using four screws. After connecting the transformer to the cutting bow via XLR connectors, the HWS-Stand! styrofoam cutter is ready for operation immediately. The transformer features IP68 protection, ensuring reliable use in demanding working environments.
SIDE SUPPORT
When working with large polystyrene (EPS/XPS) boards, the built-in side supports prevent accidental sliding or falling of cut sections.

LIMIT STOP SLIDERS
A small but crucial detail: the HWS-Stand! styrofoam cutter is equipped with limit stop sliders that lock the cutting bow at a fixed height for precise longitudinal cuts. For example, a 200 mm styrofoam board can be split into two 100 mm sections without any additional measuring.
CUTTING WIRE
We use copper-coated nichrome (NiCr) wire. Ready-made cutting wires are supplied with lugs on both ends for quick and easy installation on the styrofoam cutter. The wires are available individually (1 pc) or in bulk packs (1 kit = 10 pcs).
